How rich is .98V?

Title says most of it, did a few 3rd gear pulls from 2500-6500 and each time my timing would start out around 6-7 and ended up around 15-19. My O2 soon as i hit wot pegged .96-.98 the whole pull. How rich exactly is .98? Becuase i THINK i have a boost link, but i for the life of me cant find it by pressuring the intake, so i'm thinkin ill have to do one of those "leak down" test. Any input guys?

.96-.98 is about right for 2g's... But why are you trying to tune a car based on o2 voltage? It's worthless, look for knock, timing or get a wideband, dont tune on 02 voltage.

Wasn't tuning, dont even have a fuel controller yet. I just had the inkling I had either a vacuum leek or boost leak, and was gonna use the fact if i was running rich as a confirmation of my suspicion. Can 2g's log knock through the OBDII? Cause my logger doesnt have the option to record that, but i'd love to. I was tought to look for knock through timing jumps. Thanks for the help

Nope, you can't read knock on a 2g from the OBD-II port unless you go with DSMLink.

.98 is a little rich.......I tune mine (along with timing) for .92volts......

People have been tuning off their o2 volts for a long time.........granted it's not the best way to do it because it isnt dead accurate, and every car varies so it's not shareable tuning information

DSMLINK is the best option, but a combination of a logger/wideband also works

While NB O2 sensors are pretty repeatable, based on the fact that you pretty much get the same readings with the same sensor but are completely unrepeatable when you try to compare one sensors reading to another. .98V could very well be what yours reads for a factory tune as that is in the "ballpark". Personally mine read .90 for 11 to 1 tune & something like .94 for 10 to 1 but again, its pointless to compare one sensors readings to another.

Just to let you know how inacurate the stock o2 is, i have had it show .98 on one pull and .92 on the other with the same exact tune and i have it show 1.00 which is supposed to be really rich when my plx was in the hi 10s low 11s.

The stock o2 narrowband output readings vary with temperature as well....

Since you have a logger, why don't you log a 3rd gear pull and post the readouts?

o2's mean alot more with timing inputs...
