I just got my car back from getting a 6bolt in and I got my car tuned when my alternator was extremely dead so they needed to adjust my afc to add alot of fuel (-6 ish). However I have a new alternator and when I tried to drive it, it felt like fuel cut but it was because I was getting too much fuel so my settings are go from like -18 to -21 across my afc now because I took fuel out and it wasnt cutting out anymore. Now I have a log to see how I can tune it....any ideas???

I also have 660's, 255lph pump, tdo5h 20g, fmic, etc

That actually looks pretty good. You are getting killed at 3600 though, lean it up a bit. I'd say lean it a point or 2 everywhere else and see if your timing goes down. If not, keep leaning it until you see a loss in timing.

660's are tricky on an AFC. Good luck.

What psi is this at?

Why'd they have to add fuel due to a dead alternator?

Looks like a decent log to me. Some people never end up that good :)

This log is at 19psi moving up to around 20psi. Thanks for the tips but I guess they had to add fuel because my fuel pump wasn't getting enough voltage to add fuel or something. To tell you the truth I have no idea.... I think the shop I got it tuned at sucks because when I got the car back from getting a 6bolt in and a tune the afc went from -4 to like -9 and I thought that was too much fuel for 660s but they said thats what the wideband told them. So whatever, but I'll take some fuel out and post another log tomorrow...thanks guys. And any other ideas of what to do are appreciated.:thumb:

Alright I took out 2 % across and my timing went to ####. Look at this nasty log....what do i do now??

6808.0, 9.0, 0.9

Put the 2% back in. It seems something else isn't right though if you're only around -20% with 660's.

Make sure your base timing is set correctly. I would ignore your O2's in all honesty and just make sure the timing curve is good and your EGT's don't get too high.

DSMLink is your friend, it will make your life a million times easier if you drop coin and just get one. Good luck I'll try to remember to check back and see if this is any better but if you're going to keep the AFC try to get some dyno time in just to be sure you aren't too far rich or lean.

agreed. the other log before this one was right on. Ignore your NB o2 readings and add the 2% back in. Perhaps even try some logs with +3 or +4%. It seems that the -2% you applied is making you run lean. Also post your actual AFC settings for each log you put it, it helps.

Alright I put 2% back in everywhere except on my first run I cut out so I took 1% out at 5k rpm. Now I noticed that my fuel pressure with the line on was at 35psi and I have a jdm 1g motor in my 2g so I might have to change that.... but here is a new log. New Ideas:confused:

RPM, Timing, O2 1 Bank 1,

3332, 26.0, 0.72
3488, 18.0, 0.9

6980, 11.0, 0.9
7204, 11.0, 0.9
7188, 12.0, 0.84

edit: it is also about 30 degress colder than the first log I posted so if that matters..oh and I just saw your post blknspooln so the afc settings are:
1k 0
2k -13
3k -19
4k -20
5k -21
5.5k -22
6k -24
6.5k -22

for some reference: i have 680's, 190 fp, i had almost -42 on afc....my friend: 680's 255fp and he had it to -25. i would honestly take out 1% around 5 and up. you really should invest ina wbo2, it will make ## tuning life a sinch. get the rpm converter and put the graphs on a laptop like ## pocketlogger!

1g fuel pressure should be at 39psi and the 2g 7 bolt is ~41.5 psi. Turn up your fuel pressure a bit and then log it again. :thumb: don't give up man.
1g = 37.5psi
2g = 43.5psi

:p

Sorry so long to get back on this. You can't accurately check FP with the line on without doing related calculations based on your RPM. Do it with the line off, and you'll be sure what the actual FP is.

I'd agree with doing a leak check, checking your plugs, base timing and so on. If taking out 2% made your timing worse, something is wrong. I figured you were running a tad on the rich side since you were -20 on injectors you should be more like -30 on.

Yes I checked for boost leaks and only have some air leaking out of my biss idle screw...is this normal?? If not how do i fix it? I also have new plugs gapped to .026 i believe. I am using pocketlogger software and yea I thought i should be getting more readings too because my first log got alot more readings. I will take another log tomorrow but if I have a 6 bolt in my 2g I obviously use the fuel pressure for a 1g right?? And that means that I should have my fpr set at 37.5 with the line on or off?

Get a new set screw, or at minimum the o-ring that goes around it. It's either dried up and cracked or not there. Typical for an older car.

Did you pressurize to at least 20psi? Did you just do an audible check, or did you put soapy water on the connections?

Plugs should be gapped to .028. You don't have platinum or anything weird right? NGK BRP's?

FP is with the line off and plugged. I'm actually at a loss for the pressure you should be using. I'm pretty sure it's based on the ECU being used, not the motor. Someone else can pitch in here...

No, you have to go with the ECU not the block, 43.5 psi with the line off.

The shop put new plugs in when they swapped my motor so idk what kind they are but I pulled them and they looked clean and set the gap to .026 so I guess I put them up to .028 this weekend.

When I did a boost leak check I pressurised to 20psi...I didnt actualy put soapy water on connections put i listened and felt around. At the 20psi my idle screw began to leak and there was a weird sounding noise being made from maybe the idle screw leaking. So I'll do another boost leak check this weekend and change my fuel pressure to 43.5 with the line off. Thanks guys :thumb:

Alright I turned up my fuel pressure today because it was wayyyy to low...I put it at around 43 with the line off is that correct...1g in a 2g??? So here is the log but it got cut off early but it should be good enough. New recommondations?

edit: I was looking at my timing on my logger at idle and it seems to be really low and moving from like 9 to 4...the highest i saw was 11. I know it should be reading higher than 5 but i thought it should be even higher...how do I change my base timing? Thanks

No I didn't fix my leak yet because I can't seem to get the idle screw out:confused: so I'm probably just going to plug it up with somethingROFL .

Alright I will take another log tomorrow night...thanks for your help guys:rocks:

Oh and spyderturbo where you from in pennsylvania...I goto Penn State in state college:thumb:

Insert the tips of a needle nose plier onto the head of the screw, pull the plier apart and slowly pull the screw out.

an eaaasy way to tune, is to get an eprom ecu have it socketed and chipped for your injector sizing that way your computer tunes for you, and you can keep the afc for the track to lean it out a little if you put some race gas in it, most 95's came with eproms which makes finding them at the junkyard relitivly easy, my buddy got one for 20 bux and im still looking for a 90..
