Hi, I'm trying to buy a 2nd gen GSX, I found on for sale in my area with 118000K miles on the original engine, the seller is asking $2700 for the car. Now I'm guessing the car is basically stock, does that price seem fair for this car? Because I read somewhere online that the 99 GSX's has the most engine problems, can anyone confirm this? Thank you.

Post up the ad as that price is really cheap for a GSX with those miles. Sounds a little fishy to me

I found it, the blue GSX. I would ask him to send you pictures of the engine bay and ask if it has a salvage title.
 
I paid 5k for mine with 83,000. same year and everything, but the title wasnt to pretty. Go see it in person.
 
If it has a good clean title you better jump on that. To me that is a great deal and when it comes to these cars the closer to stock the better. Also the 99 motor is not the worst it is probably the best 7bolt motor in my opionion since it has the revised thrust bearing I have never heard of them walking.
 
I emailed the seller about this car. The price is right up my alley, and with the money that I would save by buying one this cheap, I could buy a FMIC, and touch up whatever needed to be fixed. Thanks guys I can already see that this site is going to be very informative.
 
Seems like a scam to me. Don't buy it if the seller asks to mail him money. Only purchase in person when you see this car in person.
 
It does have a drop on it..But that's kinda cool..

But for that price I would also jump on it..After I gave it a once over in person and drove it..

Specially if the title is clean..

There you have it..Probably a scam now that I hear that.

It used to be a cheyenne red 2g gsx, people used to try to scam people with..
 
Yeah I wouldn't buy the car without giving it a once over and taking it for a test drive. It do seem a little fishy. The seller hasn't emailed me back yet, but ill keep everyone posted as to what I decide to do here.
 
Somewhat same ad posted in my area Craigslist about a month ago. But, the description of the car was more detailed. Most likely a scam.
 
It's a scam, I asked detailed questions and got a cookie cutter scam response about the car being in an "Autotrader Terminal". It is also posted here in Texas under Palestine, TX craigslist.
 
Pretty much, yes.

They'll give some BS excuse like they are in the military and deployed so they have to ship the car to you so you should wire the money for it.
