Finally Did It! I bought a 1G!

I bought a Blue 1992 Tsi. Almost stock. Has hard pipes, K&N filter, rims/tires, and spring springs which I will remove because this is going to be my new RALLY CAR!!!

I remember when I bought my first 1g, it was a mint 1990 awd with less than 90k miles on her, it was pretty slow due to a dying 14b but as soon as I put a Evo 3 16g in it came alive. I still have it and still love it as much as the first day I bought it which was three years ago.

Actually, this one is a bit beat up body wise, but the tranny was just rebuild and the motor is strong.

I'm going to gut it and remove all the extra plastic body panels to lighten it.

... it's a bit beat up but the motor and tranny are solid so it's all good. Can't wait to Rally it

Just a ding on the front bumper..Other than that the body looks great..Well then I seen the roof was pretty faded but nice looking car..Is it a 6 bolt by chance?

I didn't take a pic of the passenger side. The lower door panel is ripped off.

It had a 6-bolt swapped in so that's good news.

I wish I live in an area that had rallying. I really dont understand how shine running -> Nascar, and not Shine running -> Rally racing.

Looks nice. Not terrible body. About on par with the 2 1gs I've bought and kept around for a while. Most of the 1gs I buy are just quick fixes to flip.

Glad to hear that. Before you throw any go fast parts on it, please take care of the maintenance on it first. And repair anything that needs to be repaired.

No "go fast parts" at all. Just suspension, maintenance and inevitable repairs.
