Thought I blew my oil cooler lastnight

Well Went to the parts store last night. Talking to the guy working there and for once I wasnt there getting parts for my car. The guy working there was shocked . Well I leave the parts store and go the the gas station. I start pulling out the gas station and all of sudden smoke just pours out from under my hood. I pull over in the next parking lot, pop my hood see oil everywhere squirting out the oil filter area. I though I blew the seal to the oil cooler adn almost was gonna spend the night in my car because the town I broke down is I dont trust.


Well the bolt for the oil cooler was extreemly loose so I pulled it off and checked the gasket, all was well. So some how the bolt came loose. I dont have a socket big enough to tighten it so I did what I could with a pliers. Got her home safe thank god.

been there once before; that cost me a motor since I was on the highway and no smoke or nothing looked down and no oil pressure. So I shut it down and pull over and it was seized.

That's what you get for going to the parts store and not getting it a present. DSM's are tempermental about that.

That was my first though. I actully laughed after I started thinking my car got jelous for getting parts for a different car.


Yes a fram filter. I grew up around these and never had issues with them.

Wix filters, one of the best filters you can buy! We actually did cut aparts of a bunch of filters at work and to be honest, the Wix filter had better internal construction than the K&N. Only thing better about the K&N was it has a slightly thicker steel casing, and as a result has a higher burst pressure.
