The authorities wont do anything. Its not breaking any law, its a civil matter. AND craigslist has some insane privacy laws. Remember the people who sold their grandparents? Or they guy who tried to sale his kid? Took the FBI months or arm twisting for craigslist to give up the registered email address.

EDIT: AND if you are stupid enough to buy a car from CL without seeing it and driving it and them having the title as well.

Ive seen these on craigslist alot. Hes probably going to say that he is in the military and he has to ship it to you. So you have to send him half the money now and when you get the car you can send the other half. But you never get the car and he keeps half the money.
