Unfortunately, yesterday in the afternoon my friend was going home from soccer practice, he said he didn't know what happened to him, that all the sudden he fainted out of nowhere and according to the witness driver in the back, the car was slowly swerving to the right until it eventually ended up going over the sidewalk, and hitting a pole.
No one died, and my friend just hit his knee hard and had scratches on his left hand, but he's ok.
He loved his car so much, and now it's all gone.
We had just put that new fmic as well 2-3 weeks ago.
My friend goes back home tomorrow, thank god he's alive.

Thanks man. Sad to see such a nice car go like that. Time to make the best of what's left of it and move on.. :(

wow! sad to hear man. Good to hear your friend is ok. Tell him buy a shell and transplant the motor and trans if it's still good. Tell him that if he does indeed part it out to let me know how much he wants to sell his drvr side head light.

I like the wheels, if they ain't damaged. Not sure how they would look on a red car though.:hmm: Wish him the best of luck whatever he does.

Did you find out why he fainted? That's bizarre, my only guess would be that he pushed himself to hard at soccer practice and skipped out on breakfast or lunch. Anyway that was a nice spyder, hate to see it happen to the perfectly good ones.

The damage looks alot like my '93 did, and as a result my bellhousing was cracked, input/output shafts were bent, cylinder walls were scored, timing had jumped and bent alot of valves, turbo was crushed, causing the shaft to bend and both wheels to be destroyed, and much more. Unfortunately, don't plan on salvaging much from up front to part out.

I just popped a beer for your friend and his car. Tell him I'm glad he's OK, but he should eat something before practice next time. Also, if you're feeling light-headed, pull-over, for God's sake! Unless you're drunk, just hit the shoulder, put on the flashers, and breathe! That all sucks. Glad he's OK.

Thank you all for the kind words ! I went to his house to visit him today and he seems to be doing good !
We started taking out a few misc. things and accessories the car had and another day we will proceed to strip the whole interior as well.

As for him in soccer practice and eating , that's actually a good lookout, i will ask him if he ate anything before ? He said he fainted so fast that he didn't feel drowsy or anything it just all happened so quick, and thank god he was going slow as well.
Well at least he's ok and i want to thank you all for the kind words, i will let him know.

Should be a fun project...I don't want to scare you but did they check him over as to why he fainted? That can be a sign of a serious condition such as brain tumors, heart problems, diabetes...etc...he should get checked out.

Not sure i have to ask him and see what the doctors are figuring out, He's on some treatment right now.

Thank you all. I will update you guys as soon as i find out what exactly was the cause of the epylepsy.

sorry to see a dsm go.. but glad he is ok! i believe you on the faint thing, my friend was standing in the office with me before work getting are shit together. i went to hand him something, and i didn't feel him brad it; as i looked back, and i saw him falling backwards, and slammed his head into the drywall!!! he had no idea why he was on the floor when he woke up.

glwe

hey man, that really stinks. that looked like a very nice car and a great project. do you know what he's going to end up doing with it? i could use some stuff if he indeed parts it out. give him my best and i hope w/e caused the fainting isn't serious.

Thanks guys. Well i have great news !!! My friend's dad's body shop guy came to look at it today and to our surprise, took a good look at the whole damage and said it was fixable !!!
Today we put back in the accessories we took out and tomorrow they are picking the car up to go to the shop. It's coming back from the dead !
