Im sure there a bunch of you guys in here that snowboard, and im getting pretty stoked for this winter. I just bought a skate banana and I have new ride nitrane contraband bindings for it. I'll post a pick later i guess. Has anyone used a skate banana or these bindings? What kind of set ups do you guys have?

I bought black winter and neverland this year so far too. They are both really good but the music is pretty hurting in both. And if you haven't seen the b you need to check it out. The main feature in it is sick

I have a LIbtech w/ 2008 Burton Cartel bindings/ DC phase boots (air controlled).

Btw, In my opinion I've had a Park pickle, which is similar to the skate banana, and theya re really cheap to use, I got made fun of for having the park pickle because is flex's so much and its kind of jsut a cheating board.

I have a Rome Agent with Burton custom bindings, and Burton hail boots i love my set up.

I rock a Never Summer Legacy (mid-wide), with K2 bindings and Burton Moto boots. The Never Summer is the best board I've ever ridden, and the Legacy is by far the best mid-wide board available for those with size 11+ feet.
Can't wait to get riding, I've already got my studded tires on my GSX, Banff is only 45min away.

My setup consists of a pair of K2 Hellbents and a pair of Public Enemies and Look bingings. Oh wait, those are skis... LOL

If this year brings anything close to the past three epic years in the PNW, I'll be a happy dood.

Looking to pick up a Omatic Extr-Eco Wigglestick this season.

Bindings Technine

HELMET I really don't care what people think about snowboarders and helmets, I ####ed my shit up once and got knocked out, if I didn't have my helmet serious things could have happened. I suggest wearing one if you do not to "Look cool". I usually tell kids that give me shit to follow me and do the same shit I do, I'd rather look cool doing a huge method with a helmet than having braindamage.

Must be nice living in CO. I'm usually lucky to get out 5 times a year. I've found out that boarding during the day is awesome and I wish I could do it more often - especially in real snow.

I could follow you and mimic you without a helmet

I have thought about getting one though. Here in the east we get to snowboard on packed man-made snow - aka ice - most of the time. I've hit my head plenty of times that you think I would have learned by now.

I couldn't agree with you more, I got a nice Pro-Tek helmet with headphones built in, which is much better than earphones because you can still hear what's going on around you. A helmet is a very wise choice for any riding conditions, but especially with big mountain and back country.

Mine have those built in ear pieces too! I need to get a helmet for my Ipod now though, ### I've broken 3 mp3 players boarding. Hahahaha.

Also Brian, you're fvcked if I go in fakie :p

So what's the best resort you guys have been to? If I were to travel to a city/town/resort, where would you recommend? I'm up for anything, but would love to board in real snow and possibly do some back country riding.

Cascade mountain (hill) is one of the biggest resorts in Wisconsin, and get this.

IT'S DESIGNED FOR SNOWBOARDERS. There's rarely any skiiers there. : ) All terrain, every run.

What?!? A mountain without a double black??

I'd say there better be something on those runs as they look pretty straight. Interesting to hear about a mountain designed for boarders. That's definitely something you don't see around here. Heck, they usually patrol and flatten any jump/ramps/etc. we may find or build.

This was the resort I traveled to during college. I'd love to go back or find something similar elsewhere so I get variety.

I don't think there is any one best resort. Each US mountain range has a group of killer ski areas, each with their own awesome terrain. It also depends on what you're into. I like powder and steeps. Others may like the park more.

I understand there's no "one best resort". I want to know what the best resort each person has been to, since people live in different places, have different styles, etc. That way I can gather a list of resorts that I should look into going to. Right now, I've read/seen/heard good things about Jackson's Hole, Whistler Blackomb, Sunday River (been to), Heavenly (been to, but in the wrong season OMGhdarn:), and obviously the ones in CO (Veil, Breckenridge, etc.).

Well, that's what I mean. I don't even have a favorite resort in the PNW. I like something about all of them.

I do like smaller resorts more though. Less crowds eating up the snow and clogging up the lift lines. I've only been to Whistler once, but it was for NewYears '01 so I don't remember much after all the partying I did.

Mt.Baker is pretty sweet, and has a nice down home feel and isn't super crowded. Also holds the record for snowfall.

Mt.Hood Meadows is a great place, but the crowds and lift lines make me want to punch babies. They usually have a couple of decent parks and I know some nice hidden areas that stay fresh after storms. Hood also has a couple other areas like Timberline that allow skiing on the Palmer glacier almost year 'round. That pic of me a few posts above was taken at Meadows last year in mid December. That was my second day of the season. It started late, but DUMPED when it finally started snowing. It was scary deep. So deep that if you fell, it was hard to get back up.

Alpental at Snoqualmie has a crazy amount of lift accessed steep terrain, and then gates that allow access to a shit-ton of backcountry. You need to go with somebody that knows the area though, or you could get cliffed out on some big shit and end up needing to hike out, which isn't always possible due to snow depth.

Crystal is the biggest area in WA, but keeps the crowds down pretty well. Tons of good terrain, but I don't ski there much due to the pass between Yakima and the ski area being closed for winter, forcing me to go all the way around via another pass.

I went to Tahoe a couple years ago, but it was too early in the season and didn't get to experience what looked to be fun terrain. Had a blast at Sierra at Tahoe. Squaw Valley looked fun, but not enough snow. I would like to go back during a storm.

Nice, I have wanted to try the banana board, I rock burton bindings and boots with an old ride board (BOARDS ARE REALLY EXPENSIVE)

Ps. where is the hill in Saskatchewan? ;)

I ride a K2 Illusion, with Burton Freestyle bindings and some K2 boots. I have been riding in a couple of years. I really hopin that there is a good snowfall this winter so I can ride.
