Ok so before I owned this GST I had a Mustang and my friends and fiance got used to seeing me in that type of car. I bought this DSM knowing I could not drive it for a while. I'm sure you guys know how hard it is to find a nice one with low miles. I been wanting a DSM since I was like 16 and I finally got the chance to get one so I got it. Well this dream car is sitting at my house I have not even driven it yet due to me being deployed at the moment. Well long story short they all think this is a GHEY car and they say it's a females car. I tell them its a GST but they dont even know what that is. I want them to say it's a girls car when I get back and put that 20g that is laying in my garage and yes I will have all supporting mods. I just dont see an eclipse as being so much a chick car especially a GST or GSX no offense to the n/a guys. Well off to work its 8 in the morning over here, Ill reply as soon as I get back thanks guys

They drive trucks one has a saturn ION <I think that is pretty GHEY, and I had a 99 v6 built and was procharged put down low 400's if i had to guess. I jus always liked the idea of taking out a v8 with a v6. Now I get to do it with a 4cyl hahahaha

I tell everyone at my work all the stories on how the spyder breaks now and then. Even when they see me on this site they automatically say "whats wrong with your car now?'' haha. And a lot of the guys here say that my spyder is a "girly'' car, and when I say how many girls do you see driving a turbod car they say "i dont know." I also say lets take em to the track and run em and theyre like no no its not worth me beating you. I just wanna slap them.

Just tell them a guy drives it on the F&F so how could it be a girls car? On a serious note, I've always heard they are chick cars. I do think it's due to the low wing. Get a triple decker and it will not be confused again.

Well over here the DSM scene is not so high I seen maybe like four GST's here and one GSX that I can remember. So I'm going to say with high confidence that I will be one of the few with this turbo charged chick car in my area. Plenty of mustangs to go around and hondas. Can't wait to get back home. Hurts me to just have her in the garage like that

Half the people who see my car and have anything to say about it are stoked to see it running and in good condition: They built the damn thing. I live in Normal. Most of those people simply have great memories of when they had great jobs building great cars.

Now I have a murdered-out primer-gray 92GST. Noone around here would think it looks girlie leaving 2 strips of dark, smoky, rubber up and down the block. But if it was the same color as your car, that might be different

I think the 2g dsm is one of the most sexiest cars. I dont think its gurly at all, it looks like a full blown race car. (97-99) models of course. Mustangs, civics, and all the rest are gurl cars. After your friends ride in your car when its finished, ask them "Name another car that pulls like a DSM"...They wont be able to say civic or mustang and damn sho not a saturn..

I'm not too much of a fan of the 2g Eclipses or the 2ga Talons. The 2gb Talons IMHO are the least 'girly' looking of the 2gs, and that keeps some of the harassment down.

I'd say the only thing someone might find "girly" about my Talon, is the fact that if some kids walking down the road were to yell, "Get on it!", and all they hear is a whistling sound then a "pshhhh"......(cause my wheels don't spin). To them that may be lame. But if you had a passenger they'd be like, "how in the......wtf.....a 4-cylinder, are you serious?!?"...... Or a RWD car beside you, like a Mustang...

I don't have that problem, 1G ftw. I either get "What kind of car is that?" or "This thing is Turbo? And AWD?" <insert head shaking now>. The 2G's always will be the car people will say "looks girly". Why? Because Diamond Star Motors wanted a car that attracted more attention, via visual looks. So they made it look "girly" to sell better. The plan worked, and plus the era was changing, boxy cars weren't in "style" anymore. To date, my favorite car looks wise will ALWAYS be, a 2gB Eclipse, with the high rise on the back, and a front mount in the front behind that big ass 2gB Eclipse bumper. The only thing that gives it a run for it's money, is a 1gA Talon/Eclipse with the Turbo front bumper. Ferrari's, Lambos, all of them, yeah they look good...but nothing will be sexier than a clean ass, body kit "fast and furious" free, DSM.


DSM all the way people.
