Corvette vs ws-6 intake mani

Does anybody know if the intake mani from 2001 corvette is a good upgrade to the 2000 Trans am ws-6? A friend of my brother once told him that the corvette intake would do more bad than good, I just can't see how! My brother stole one from this friend (different friend), well he paid $50 for it I think that's a still!!! I know he will need a 90mm TB if we end up putting it on my brothers T/A. Thanks for any inputs guys!!

An LS-6 intake should be one of the first upgrade's to do on a LS1, he doe's not need a 90mm TB, well for one it will not fit on that mani, just a stock ported TB will do.

If you still belive that the LS6 mani is going to hurt your performance than send me a PM and I will buy it off of you.

Well no, I never believed that the vette mani was going to hurt the T/A, I was told that, so I just wanted to make sure, and last time I checked the 2001 vette had the 90mm TB but I will double check on that. please correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the regular corvette had the ls1 engine and the z06 had the ls6, it has been so long since I read anything about those cars. Thanks again for any info!!

Isn't this why they stopped production of the ws6? Because it could easily and cheaply be modded to keep up or go faster than a vette, at half the cost?

Yeah I read something like that a while back!!! I'm confused now, I have to read about the ls1, ls2, and ls6 deference.

A WS-6 and a non-Z06 C5 vette have the same engine, just the WS-6 has it WAY detuned. So no the intake is not a upgrade. A LS6 intake is a upgrade. There is no 90mm TB on a C5 vette, the first 90mm was on the LS2.
