Yep, I'm on 4g61t.

Filled motor mounts didn't really turn out. I'm as far as I can go block wise until I put togethor my head. Doesn't hurt that I get paid in 5 days and I've found some 272's for a good price.

My first car was a blue Colt...1.5l 4 speed. That car was slow as balls and unreliable as anything, but I loved it. I couldn't even give it away last year though, so it went to the junkyard. I wish I could have made a project like this, but I already have my 90 Tsi AWD so I didn't need another money pit. Good luck with the build!

my grandpa bought one of those a while back. i dont remember what engine it had or anything... we beat the shit out of it... i remember it was AWD tho cause we took it up a mountain . we used to drive around and hit mail boxes on purpose! stupid kids!

Updates:

AASCO aluminum flywheel, 6 Puck clutch, f5m33 5spd bolted up. All that's left is install sway bar, drop engine in, connect wires/hoses, axles, START!

You could only get an AWD version of this car in australia/new zealand/japan. Some people have done awd swaps from a 1g into the car however.

'92-'94 they were aval. Some were 2.4 6bolt motors I believe. Anyway too bad you wont have much fun with it before the snow flies.

Our winter's here in wi have changed a little, over the past few years, we haven't even had snow until christmas/after christmas where I live. Sucks for the season but great for cold weather+turbo=fun.

Did a few things with the colt today. The midwing is a rare piece from JDM land, it's even rare over there so I'm happy I picked it up! Won't be able to tell until it has power going through it but the cluster's colors have been changed, pointers are green instead of the original yellow, backlights were switched to a brighter bulb. Radio/cubby hole delete panel installed, not sure what gauges will go there yet. Installed the top wing too.
