Alright I know this might sound weird to some of you but instead of a turbo I'm thinking I might like to try out a supercharger. Does anyone know of a company that offers supercharger kits for 1G DSM cars?

them electric ones are a joke ahah dont buy them.

a comp named psi made one for the 2g but it had major driveshaft problems and never really worked.. but there was one that was produced it just never worked

A friend of mine is planning on making his Eclipse GS faster because it is slow without the turbo. He first thought of turbo charging it but then decided he wanted to be unique because everyone that has a fast eclipse is turbo'd.

Can anyone please tell me some information on a supercharger kit available for a 93 Eclipse GS? website? products? sertain companies?

I have started saving for a turbo for a few months now and I have givein it some thought on what I want, but I was just wondering if anyone knew of any type of Superchargers they make for a Talon/Eclipse, or even if they do?

I don't think anyone makes a supercharger for 1g DSMs. But if anyone did it would probably be Vortec or Jackson.

Jackson does not. Best changes would be to look for a centrifugal blower (ie paxton, vortex) They can be adapted to almost any motor. With some custom parts. But when you look at the long run the turbo might cost a tad more than a supercharger setup it will be easily upgradeable.

Even if there was a JRSC for a 420a it would be for a neon and the motor is turned around on those so it wouldn't fit anyway.

Later,

Why would you want a supercharger.. They are soo many down sides to a supercharger then a turbocharger. I wouldn't waste your time finding a supercharger. The biggest reason why to get a turbo over a super is You can control boost on a turbo. more hp top end. Not loosing HP from your belts. More efficent because it uses wasted energy, the Exhaust gas. And I could keep going.. ;) Turst me your better of with a turbo. Also the reason that Top fuel dragster don't use turbo on V8 are because they are outlawed. Way more power can be produce on a Turbo.

no lag. But I do agree, a turbo has more pros than a supercharger does.

My 2 cents on the subject is that you have to "Have Power to Make Power" with a Supercharger. Enough said if you ask me.

Some numbers:
Efficiency of a supercharger is upper 40s to lower 50s percent
Turbo on the other end is upper 70s and higher depending on size.

In general, bigger turbos may get up to 85% efficiency, while smaller ones could be as low as 60% due to exhaust restriction.

I seen that someone was wondering if there is a supercharger for the NT cars and i dont think there is one YET. I know a guy who's shop is in the process of making one and if all goes right and it works on their project car they will produce it.

www.boosthead.com...they are manufacturing a manifold to fit an eaton supercharger. he sells the kit new for 3500.00. but you can get most of the parts used and save yourself some money if you don't mind the second hand route...trust
