ROFL ROFL

Just curious who into is into mountain biking. I am starting to get into it this year, and dont know much about the stuff out there. I used to be big into BMX years ago, and used to work at a Schwinn bike shop, but for BMX. I am looking into buying a used frame and building it up, but not to sure what companies are good, and who to stay away from. If your into it, post what ya got or whatever, and if your looking to sell some stuff...list it :D

right now, just so i have something to dick around with, i bought my sisters boyfriends old Giant Iguana. Its a pos, but at least its got front suspension on it. I got tired of tweaking this thing on the ground and missed the sweet stands we had when i worked for schwinn, so i fabbed up a sweet stand that fits in my benchtop vise. Now i can work on the bike in the air and can get that derailer dialed in all nice! sweeeeet.

well then..... :toobad: that was a waste of space.
Yup! sorry, just thought id get that out. I used to have a nice 21 speed schwinn, it was super fast, i raced a shitload of kids around the campground when we went camping. i also had a "trick bike w/ pegs, the gyro wheel, but i had that for like 3 months before i got into dirtbikes.

I do a fair share of mountain biking. I have a Nishiski which weighs about 10 pounds :thumb:

I'm really into downhill biking. I have an '04 c-dale gemini with Hope 6-Pistons and 2.8 Michelins and such.

How did you get on top?? this is my thread damnit, i want to be number 1 !!

I do a little trail riding. I have a Trek 4300 with disc brakes. It's a great time but I've taken some falls I didn't think I would walk away from.

I love Downhill Mountain Biking! I've got a 1997/98 Edquardo Bianchi Super Ibex. Full Suspension is probably the highlight of the bike with quick adjustability for the front & rear. Rock shocks Quadra 21r grace the front shocks & Fasttrack co-active suspension in the rear. Also the nicer highlight would be the weight of the bike. It is extremely light like a road bike. Sadly it does not have the current technology of today's sweeter Mountain Bikes. Like front & rear disc brakes would be a plus. Latest "mods" for the bike were clip on pedals by Shimano & damn those make such a difference in pedal power & just overall performance! I forget the model # but I paid $150.00 or so for a new set awhile ago & they still haven't given me any trouble at all. It is an older model compared to the newer ones but can't complain at all! I enjoy every minute on the trails or on the road with it.

I used to mountain bike. I had a Santa Cruz Bullit, Did freeriding and trails. I would still be doing it but I injured myself too many times.

I'm trying to get back into it again after taking a while off. I have an Iron Horse bike with a Quadra 21R front shock. Olde school! I'm not too fond of most of the full suspension bikes-- I'll probably stay with the hardtail for a while.

I don't montain bike, but I ride A LOT of bmx. I think I ride my bike more then I drive my car(since I have a miniramp in my backyard). Its +- 24ft wide, 32ft long, 1 side is 5ft the other is 4ft with a 9ft vertwall. I see a lot of moutain bikers at some skateparks that I go to. Its amazing how they have soo much control on a 24 inch bike. I give a lot of respect for the mountain bike guys :thumb: I tried riding one once. :notgood:

I used to ride a ton before I got into BMX. Should have stayed with mountain biking, the BMX hurt a lot more, but damn it was fun.

I just have a full suspension setup, nothing big, its nice to have that when you are flying down dirt roads at like 20-30 mph, my ass hurts a lot less than on my old POS hardtail mongoose. Its also fun giving the back shock as much travel as possible and then preloading it and jumping down hills and such. Good times when I have the energy.

old school here-13 years riding
99 gt lts full susp frame(6061 alunm)
full xtr drivetrain(grip shift 9.0)
fox vanilla rear\bomber front
irc missles
yah its old,but i have yet to meet someone who can keep up,90% rider 10%bike

'03 Giant NRS Air,(sub 24lbs with a few CF goodys!) so mostly a cross-country guy here.

But I did make the requisite pilgrimage to Moab with some friends that are hardcore when I had my '01 Jekyl(quite a bit more rake than the Giant so wasn't too bad with a riser bar and fat tires).
