Well, my friend has this 1989 240sx, he bought it about 3 months ago and he swapped a red top s13 sr20det full swap into it. He has a blow off valve, hks exhaust, boost controller, turbo timer, coil overs, rear strut tower brace. We were at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Friday its called Midnight Mayhem from 10:30 to 2:00am. He lined up with this civic he took the civic, but the civic ran a 17.2. I look and he ran a 15.1 LOL  . He comes back and is like wtf, then he runs again and he runs a 16.9 HAHAHA  . He starts to get pissed then he runs one more time and he ran a 14.4 I guess it was alright. Then the funniest thing of the night has nothing to do with us, but I have to say it. I see this 1995-1997 dodge van and he lines up I am like wtf. He is lining up with a 99 civic blue hatch back. The civic ran a 16.8 and the van ran a 15.7 can you say owned! HAHAHAHAHAHA   :p . I lined up with a camaro ss in my turbo II, I took him off the line and all the way through the run. It didn't show my time  , but I know it was way faster then a 14.4
LoL.

I have seen alot of people spend thousands of dollars on a car and still run pretty bad 1/4 times. So it all depends on what car you are talking about. DSM's are very easy and cheap to make fast 1/4 times. But i have seen honda's with $8k invested in it running 14 mids. With $8k i can have a 12-13 car, and that's including buying the car.

i love m DSM but everyone has a fast DSM. He already has so much into it i think it would be worth it to keep going on it. if your freind can get that into the 13's that would be a very nice car. you dont see to many older one that have stuff done to them running fast times. :thumb:

The thing is, my car is close to stock and im happy with its speed(for now, i upgraded form a 1.8) but when i want more speed im doing it the right way. m building up my internals, engine rebuild, tunning like crazy, i want this to be my reliable daily driver. to me its worth it, but for me i want a car in the mid 13's and ill be happy for a long time. Then later on in life i plan on getting an Evo, and ill just bust this one out as my project car and forget about reliability. but that will be ahwhile

Wanna know a secret? We're wasting our money too. But we refuse to admit and instead call it a hobby.

My friends crx runs 13's and he only spent 3200 including the price of the car. He swapped in a b18c1 for 2600 and he bought the car or 600. Yea some guys dont know how to build there cars right. :thumb:

He says that he is running badtimes because he has to get used to the car first he said he'll run 13's next friday.

that very well could be true.

a car is only as good as its driver.
