Dsm's Calendars... BRAINSTORM!

Ok guys. This is a very serious thread so if you honestly don't have anything to contribute to the thread then please do not post useless information into it.

Here goes...

I've been trying to think of something to actually do the dsm community a great help and remembered back in the day (months back) how 3si.org pulled a CALENDAR IDEA and got a company one of the members knew to produce a dsm calendar for them and the member locally in that area got members to send him money and he physically ordered the calendars and sent them out. Now I'm getting a wild hair up my ass to honestly step up to the plate and perform this task myself and here is the information I've gathered and I would like to see either a definate "I WOULD BUY ONE FOR THAT PRICE" or a "No, can't do and a good reason why" if this is at all possible for you members.

I would be asking for the money UPFRONT before I ordered the calendars and send them out myself. Once I got the money together I would physically go purchase the items and send them out myself.

Now I know I know.. You want to know what dsm's would be on it I'm sure. That I'm not sure of but I know for a fact it will contain 1st gens and 2nd gens.

Calendar Information:
8 1/2 x 11 inches is the size of the calendar (nice size personally)
It will have a spiral binding instead of being held together by glue.
January 2005 - December 2005 (months)

The pictures will definately be HIGH COLOR plus I will be buying one or two myself to look over before I definately decided this is something I want my fellow dsm'ers to spend their money on also.

Price:
$20.00 per calendar shipped.

Unless I could get at least #300 plus people interested and sending me cash that way the company I was buying them from would actually put them on a press and lower the price drastically for us. At 500 calendars they would drop to about $12-15 shipped. That includes the tax I pay on the item, me shipping it and the price of the calendar itself.

Once I see intrest in the calendars I will start choosing the cars and emailing or messaging each cars owner and making sure it's ok with them to use their car in the calendar.

Let me know guys... Let me know...

You better wash it.
I'm not limiting it to specific cars as of right now.
I just know its gonna be clean lookin cars in different enviroments.

I got two or three estimates at the moment and I'm lookin for cheaper but the companies that do the binding via GLUE will not produce less than 500 for me at the moment but if I get them with spiral binding they will be hellaciously easier to get for me plus the simple fact of I don't have to order a set amount.

I'm tryin to get em cheap guys. But I'm not going to substitude quality for price.

Anyone disagree with the $20 per so far?

You can't have a calender that only goes to july.

It's going to have to go to dec 2005.

I'm down for the cause. Us DSM'ers get about as much respect as Rodney Dangerfield...even though a certain notoriuos green 2G Eclipse helped set the tuning seen on fire.....no matter how terrible the flick was.

I think that after the finalists for the calendar have been chosen that those people need to have high quality 35mm color slides (not digital, not prints) taken of their cars in a scenic environment and submitted. It'd be much better quality than a digital picture plucked out of their gallery, since slides are still what most publishers use. Or was this obvious already?
