Alright, I just picked up my 1G Laser two weeks ago. Picked up the 17" Sumitomo's and new wheels, but, the fender wall gap is waaaaay too big to take serious. Have been looking for springs/coilovers, anything that will lower that beast to a respectable level but isn't slammed to the ground. Looking for a nice, lowered ride. Can't hurt performance though because I'm looking to run the 1/4 in a few weeks. Also, my car is basically stock, haven't had much time to make mods. Taking it to the track, what are good possibilities of breakages and cost of repair?

Look at H&R springs and KYB agx shocks. It lowers it to the height the car should have come stock. Still gives you enough ground clearance to go up to the mountains though ;)
Go talk to Matt Ahl at GarageSPL (it's at the south end of Lake City Way in Seattle) if you need someone local to order from/install. Just tell him that I sent you.

What track are you planning on going to? Season is pretty much over. I know that Woodburn in oregon runs until the end of October, but that's about it.

I don't want the car to be "stock" lowered, I want it to look and perform like a car that is lowered about 1 1/2" to 2". I plan on racing it in Yakima, WA at Renegade Raceway, racing continues into the early part of October. I got a small budget so the best and cheapest springs/coilovers are my way to go.

I have eibach's with agx's and the car looks and handles great! There aren't many springs that drop 1g's much at all. The prokits are the best all around too me, but I dont mind a little more bumpy ride so I opted for the sportlines. It lowered the car about 1.75 all around, and it looks much better. Handles great with the agx's...all for 580$ brand new.

It will handle worse lowered over 1.5". With a mcphersion strut suspension the farther you lower the car the larger the distance between the roll couple and center of gravity becomes. That makes for MORE body roll when cornering. I know it's the exact oppisite of what you would expect.
That can be counteracted by running higher spring rates, but then you have to run a shock that is valved for those rates. No "over the counter" aftermarket shock is, you would have to get custom valved shock. In the end that would come to $1500-$2k for an entry level setup. Not worth the money IMO.
The H&Rs put the car at the height it SHOULD have come stock, think BMW type ride height. I'll see if I can a picture of Todd's car with them on.

Check www.shox.com for the best price on AGXs.

I was looking on coximport.com and found some AGX shocks for $360 and a set of Eibach Pro kit springs for $215. Hey candela, where did you buy your set up?

That looks hella nice. Tires are just about on the fender wall. How much did you spend on that set up? Nice for launching a FWD?

I got Suspension Techniques 1.5" drop springs for $150 and kyb gr2s. I do recommend getting some kyb agxs though. The springs arent too bad for the price. i like em. I beleive i purchased them from tirerack but id have to double check.

Nined -
I'm thinking about getting a set of GR-2s. What advantage do the agxs have over the GR-2s? I'm looking for a more controlled ride for my daily driver, so I don't want a kidney-buster setup. I'll probably go with the Eibach or HR springs as I'd like to drop about 1" - 1.5", but still retain a comfortable ride.
What do you recommend for this drop? Will the drop use up too much the GR-2s travel?
