Hey guys,
i have some futura regular tires in my car, i need new front tires because they are crooked. The rears are in good condition so i could re-use them, so my question is can i put some good tires Ej. Nitto, Falken, potenzas in the front and keep the futuras in the rear?

Any drawbacks? risks? etc..?

Thanks

Many people use two different kinds of tires, it's not a huge problem but i wouldn't do it. I am assuming that you want good performing tires by what you listed, if so then buy all four for sure. One drawback is uneven treadwear. All the tires you listed will wear much faster than your old tires and if you try to rotate them more to compensate, then you will have worse tires in the front sometimes...which leads to bad oversteer and the next point. Different tires will make your car handle weird(and really bad most likely) but this might not matter to you if you don't do any hard driving. But then in the rain, one pair might perform a lot better than the other which makes for scary handling. I recommend getting all new tires. Although, I might play around with some fun runs at an autocross this season putting my new good tires/wheels up front with my old wheels and hard bridgestones out back. Maybe some fun with FF oversteer playing with tires, pressures, and shock settings.;)

You're fine with FWD. The rears are only on there to give the front ones something to steer. If you're playing Speed Racer, you might get some interesting action going on as you find out which set of tires really does hold the road best.

so there really is no risk?
I mean they will be the same size and the rears only steer like they said.

You'll be fine with the current ones on the rear as long as they are not severely dry rotted or down to the wear bars. Different brands and tread patterns won't make a difference in normal driving as long as they are of the same construction.
