replacing front wheel bearings GVR4

does anyone know any tips for installing front wheel bearings? the front left one is bad, but do i need to replace both? is this really complicated and technical?

if you've no MAJOR mechanical experience, i would leave this to someone else, it is a MAJOR PITA and NOT easy, even when you have a press at your disposal

True It is a major PITA but what I did because I didn't have the neccesary tools to do it myself was to take the entire hub assembly off myself. and took that to be pressed. It probably saved me a few hundred to do that part myself. I took the hub assembly to a local dealership and had them press in the new bearing for me it cost me ~$70. Then reassembled everything.

If you do do it this way I would be sure not to trash your balljoints. I used a "pickle fork" and ended up destroying the tierod balljoint, so look out for that.

Pickle forks suck. Use the racers method; a BFH.

Whack the side of the taper area of the BJ or tie rod end. And hard. It'll pop right out and put a smile on your face. Trust me on this one, it's one of those tricks they don't teach you in mechanics school.....
