Ball Joints HELP!

I have a 95 GSX eclipse, and I cant get the damn Upper ball joint (front) shaft to stop spinning (I'm trieing to tighten the bolt). It seems as though I need something to hold the shaft still so I can tighten the bolt. Help How Does This Thing Work???

Take a nut off another ball joint and use it to tighten it down. Sometimes the plastic ont he lock nut doesn't cut on a shaft and causes it to spin. See if that helps.

Thanks for your help. I figured it out I just had to lower the car and than tighten the bolts, the pressure from the car pushed the shaft down.
