i have a 1g awd talon and i just bought 17 inch rims. i want to lower my car but not so much that it messes up the camber. than again i dont think 1 inch is low enough. so will 1.5-1.7 be good enough not to mess up the camber? what is the nameof some i can get for a good price will i also need shocks?

Anytime you lower a car the camber and toe will be the most effected. Its not so much the camber that wears out tires fast. Its Toe that eats the living #@%#@%#@%#@% out of tires. Imagine being dragged side ways for 30,000 miles. That is what's happening to your tires. The most important thing to remember is to get an alignment done after installing aftermarket lowering springs.

Now as far as how much to lower the car I would not recommend any lower than 1.5 inches. Any more than that and you will be hurting performance.

im thinking about just getting ground-control coilovers since there adjustable do i still need kyb agx or can i go with the regular kyb non adjustables

With DSS coilovers on mine, I lowered my front about 0.25-0.5 inches and the rear about 1.5 inches. I have the hardware to adjust, but my rear camber was WAY out and my front toe was actually quite a bit out too (I was actually surprised at the change from the small drop).

If you are going to lower the front, I STRONGLY suggest getting the Koni inserts for the front and doing the mod to shorten the shock and allow the additional inch of front suspension travel. I have approximately 1.5" of travel in the front and even with 400 lb/in springs, it is not nearly enough.

I would not suggest the KYB GR2's with GC coilovers. The reason you need AGX (or better) is the additional dampening they provide to control the spring energy. Stockers were designed to control 146 lb/in springs. You would quickly wear out the GR2's. This all depends on what spring rate you choose, but if you lower the car, the spring rate must go up or you will be constantly bottoming out.
