Hello-

This weekend I have to do a complete brake job on a 96 Eclipse. This is a standard FWD, automatic, boring edition. <grin>

I'm a GM guy.. I have never touched a Mitsu before. I need to know what tools I need.. (any special sockets, etc?) and any helpful tips for someone who hasn't done brakes on an Eclipse before?

I would -really- appreciate any help you guys could give me.

i do brakes at my high school and ive gotta say my eclipse brakes were the easiest ive ever done. its a simple as taking off tire, unbolting two bolts, and take off brake from rotor, if replacing pads then i believe it two more bolts. its REALLY easy. have fun! :thumb:

If you've done brake on a GM you shouldn't have problems at all. All you need is a few sockets you get the caliper off (don't know the size), a coat hanger or something to suspend the caliper while you change the rotor and a c-clamp to push the piston back into the caliper bore. Do you have rear drum brakes? cause those can be a pain, there easy too but they suck to do LOL
