I'm planning on changing my color sheme to Red and White and I want to powder coat my rims white. I was just wandering if the powder coating could withstand the abuse that rims get? After a year would it still look like the day i got them done? Has anyone ever had this done. I meet some one who said could do them for $35 a rim, so it sounds like a good idea to me.

powdercoating is about the same as painting.. so if u knick up your rims right now then the powdercoat will not last either.. my rims are actualy painted gunmetal from the factory and they are holding up well

Supposedly, powder coating is supposed to hold up better than paint, but it's not all that much better... if a rock hits it, it will chip. $35 per wheel is pretty cheap. I'd be skeptical - it's either a really good deal, or really sketchy quality.
