What size tires u have on your stock 17s?

I am looking to upsize my wheels. I have the stock gsx 17 inch rims and wondering if a 235/40-17 size tire will be able to mounted on them. I am stupid, i already bought the tires and just compared the old 225/45-17 and the new ones look almost an inch bigger!! So anyone fit tires this big on the stock gsx 17 gsx rims? Any info would be apreciated!

For AWD, Id suggest going with 225/45/17ZR, FWD prolly 215/40/17ZR. I had 215/45/17ZR on my GSX in my sig pic, that will give you an idea of what it looks like.

Kinda funny, I just sent my 98 TSI 17s to the powdercoater, and I am not looking for a tire setup. Dieselboys setup looks cool, but ya i wonder what the 225/45s would look like. But alot of the stock 17s are 17x6 and not a 7 inch

yeah, the 225s look good, like a 215. but i know that, i already have thouse, i am curious if anyone has ever fit a 235/40-17 tire on the stock gsx 17 rim! If anyone has done so, please let me know.

You need a 7.5 wide rim minimum to run 235 tires.

I'm running on 235/45/17 with aftermarket 17x7's. If the rims are only 6 inches wide, No. Seven inches yes, but being 40 series will throw your rolling diameter off considerably.

stock 17" gsx wheels i have 235/45/17 tires. they do not rub on my 1G, but they do slightly rub on my 2G.
