2g suspension on a 1g?

Well, just as the title implies, is this possible? If it is, how much work is required? I have never heard of anyone doing this, but that doesn't mean its never been done. I believe the rear suspension is the in the 1g and 2gs, but the front is what really is different. Is it possible to swap the front end suspension? Sorry if this sounds really n00b like, but it got me thinking.

If you want 2G suspension, buy a 2G.
