Can someone tell me what are the pro's and cons of going the coilver route or just adding springs. My car is intended solely for the track and the occasional street drag...

My understanding is that the Coilover gives the benefit of being able to raise the ride for street driving and comfort... since in my case comfort is not an issue at all (hence I am putting in Poly motor mounts and eliminating the balance shafts) I think I can get away with just springs?

i think he is talking about adjustable springs...for the track i would get a full set up like tein or hks are something like that....adjustable springs would be a half ass job to me..but good luck

I was referring to just getting springs, like the Eibachs... for a track only car what would teh difference be between Springs and Coilovers considering NASA penalizes coilovers more than just springs...

The Time Trials we have here in PR obey the Nasaproracing rules. If the difference is that much more noticeable then I will consider the Tein Coil Over setup... how much does that setup go for?

Be aware that if you get coilovers and adjust the ride height for daily and track use, you will have to get an adjustable camber kit granted that you care about your treadwear. The best and most used of the true coilover setups are JIC and Tein. Each one will hit you for at least 1K. Good luck.

Is there any setup with only Shocks and Springs and granted that I plan on adding Sway Bars that will be comprable at the track (Autoxing and Time Trials) with a Coilover setup (performacewise)? I do not want yo be adjusting camber between track on driving the car home (this will be a track car but it will be driven home).

Hows does JIC compare with Tein? I hear that you can adjust the Teins from inside the car via a module?

But I went on Tein's site and I do not see any available for a 1G... the SP's are "Coming Soon" it says.

Any thoughts?

dudes. go here. 250 a pair for a full coilover setup. www.justairbagit-store.com/product.asp?returnURL=default.asp&ID=23894

these are full coilover shocks with everything you need including shock canisters for like 250-269 a pair. so that makes 4 around, 600 bucks or so after it's all done.

justairbagit.com i that doesn't get you to the "lowered car" pages
try airbagit.com these are new and for the money you can't beat them. may not be a name brand, but hey. i get the drift (get it?) that you aren't trying to spend too much...
Hope this helps.
