What is the best set-up to make a 2g handle really well? i went in my friends EVO 8 today and im jealous of the ride.

1) Reduce weight. Gut everything and replace everything with light weight components. Aim for approximately... 2300 lbs. It really shouldn't be that difficult, with FWD and all.

2) Weld in a full chromalloy cage by a professional chassis builder, not some redneck in a back room who works for beer.

3) Put on 245 width Advans on 18x8.5 Rays or Advan wheels that weigh less than 14 lbs each. If you want to, go get some R compound tires and watch the car stick even more. Some say that Hoosier can do that. If so, get even wider wheels.

4) Go get some big fat sway bars custom bent. Even bigger for the rear, considering you're FWD.

5) Call up AP Racing. Tell them you want the largest brake system that they can fit on a 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse. 6 piston front 13" disc minimum for the front. Go bigger.

6) Replace all your bushings with the Polyurethane ones.

7) Buy a custom setup Bilstein/Ohlins/Carrera/etc remote reservoir shock system. Sit there and map out the entire 2G geometry so you may optimize this with ride height, camber adjustment, spring rate, etc, etc.

I guarantee by the time that you have everything done well enough, have spent at least over 200 man hours on suspension geometry, I can pretty well say that you'll have a car that will out handle an EVO.
