Painting wheels - please help if possible or aleast oppions..

Ok i went to auto zone today and bought some Dupli-color wheel paint. I was hoping they would have a glossy black but the darkest they have is "graphite". They did have a Lacguer paint there that was good for exterior metal and came in glossy black and the have a clear coat too. Do you think that this would work? I saw this car and i would love to have somewhat of the same results (he powder coated them though)..and my car is black i hope that would look as good as i think it will...

Well if your lip is polished like that you can get a good black coat with spaypaint and clearcoat. Go to this dsmtalk link and check out black wheel on eclipses and talons Many people painted there own and it looks good.

Ok i painted the wheels today. I love it, cant ask for more from something that cost $17 and a couple hours of my time.. Granted its not perfect but Im not a professional and i promise i am the only person who be able to tell. I also feel bad for copying the idea from another dsm'er but he put the idea out on the web so i took it.. I will post pics when i get new batteries for the camra...(at least i hope thats why it stoped working)

Have you got any pics with the paint>? I have polished wheels and I HATE them, I just dropped 5K into a paint job and really don't feel like retiring some good looking, but hard to polish wheels - I was thinking of powdercoating, but the price is near the moon!

I will be posting pics A) as soon as the rain clears (hate tx weather) B) as soon as i get new batteries for the camra, i assume thats is what is wrong with it....ill try later today..

ok still looking at wheels. Havent decided if i want to go new ones or spend the money on the engine first but anyways...what do you think of these on a black 98 gst? I dont know how much they weigh yet im trying to figure that out...they come in 17 x 7
