I just dropped my car, and i drove it around, all and good, then heard a noise, so i brought it home, smelt burning rubber. Popped my wheel off(right rear) and looked at it, and the inside edge was torn to shreads. The bar that goes down behind the tires was worn where it was rubbing. Is there anything i can do so it dont rub? or will i need thinner tires. I have 18x8 now

You need to do some reading on choosing tires/wheels. You've chose a combination that of course won't fit as the tire now makes contact with your knuckle (what you referred to as the "bar behind the tires"). You may be able to get some wheel spacers to set your wheel a bit further out. If you need large spacers you may also need to get some longer wheel studs. I can't comment on the effect of using these things and the caveats since I don't have personal experience with them nor have I done much reading. In the future do some research on tire width, diameters, and wheel offsets, and you'll understand why this happened.

ive been looking into it. When i bought the rims, they came with the 235/40 tires and was told they would fit. They fit fine before i lowered it. SO i guess i should go to 225 or 220/40?

I believe what you wrote... but it doesn't make sense that they started rubbing AFTER you lowered it. That knuckle doesn't move in relation to the wheel/tire with changes in suspension height, so if it rubbed in one position it would rub there in all positions. Maybe my diagnosis was incorrect? In this case I would suggest you take off the wheel and examine the suspension to see exactly where the tire was rubbing. I must have misunderstood your desciption of the "stabilizer bar".
