2G Drum in Disk rear brakes???

I just took my Rotors of my 95 AWD and found some drum brakes.
My car has disk brakes all around, what are these drums for? I did notice that they are used for the E-brake, but are they used for actually braking? The pad seem kinda low on them so if they are actually used for braking them I should probably change them, but if they are just for the ebrake then it should be fine.

They're the parking brakes. I'd not want to rely on them in an emergency, but any port in a storm.

If they are worn, one of two things have happend: 1. The parking brake is not adjusted properly and they are engaged all the time. 2. The previous owner was an idiot and liked to screw around with the ebrake.

Im not really sure what these look like when there new, but they look a little worn to me. There is about 1/4 - 1/3 in. of pad left on them, is that worn or still good?

That is more than enough. THere is no need to replace them unless the rivots are showing.

And yank your ashtray/cup holder, and snug up that adjuster nut so that your brake handle only comes up to about 35°, or "4 clicks to dragging" per the manual.

Backing up everyone else here... they're not real thick to start off with since they're not service brakes. They are really just to hold the vehicle in place. One additional note make sure the shoes are not cracked. I've replaced a few parking brake shoes because of cracking and not the thickness. If they crack and fall apart then you could have some shoe material wedge in between the Drum part of the rotor and other shoe material thus locking up that one wheel.

F.Y.I. that's call a drum in hat design by many manufacturers.
