Right now im running 225/45/18's, and i know that is killing my 1/4mi time.. what is the best size setup for the track...
i plan to buy 2 cheep wheels for the front, with slicks.. what size should i get...

when i was at the track last time i saw a stock looking Jetta with these WIDE tires easily past his fenders, looked like a 15 or 16 inch wheel.. he pulled off a 11.9 if i remember correctly.. with minimal wheel spin.. (he had some turbo in there)

Are you sure? because, that tire is 26" tall and the proper size for your Eclipse is 25" tall (225/40-18). If you can run a 26" tall tire you may want to get some16" steel wheels and run a 255/50-16 ... although it is not the best diameter for the car your wheel spin issues will be resolved .... if you can find a 25" diameter drag radial like a 245/45-16 that would even be better. We carry the BFG Drag radials and they do not offer that size. I do not think that you can get a 15" wheel that will clear the brakes on a GST model.

Luke, if you get a wheel with a tight radius on the inside of the spokes, and a pretty low offset (37-40mm if I remember right) 15" wheels will clear. A few local GST owners have 15" wheels.
15" wheels came stock on the GVR4 which had the 10.8" rotors and 2 piston calipers that came on the 2G AWDs. The GST only has a 10" rotor. So *some* 15" wheels will fit.

Luke@tirerack.

What size "Slick" type tires can I get for my 96 GS-T Stock Rims....

Nitto's, BF, Hoosier. etc....

What's the cost?

My work computer blocks tireracks site so I can't look things up.

The only "drag slick" we carry is the BFG Drag Radial and they do not offer a size suitable for the OE wheel on a GST. Sorry,
