please help me with tires.......i've searched already

heres the deal.... i have 225/50/16's on my stock 95 tsi awd swirly rims... handles like shit and my front tires need to be replaced....

the tires are kind of wide and it handles like crap prolly cause they're wide and not too good tread.....

my question is should i get supra 712 225/50/16's for the fronts or are they too wide

or should i just get 215/55/16's all around?

whats the diff between the z rated the vr rated and wr rated tires? does it matter what i get? thanks help me out what is hould do
right now i have dunlop sp sport 5000's in the bback ventus something in the front

Search some more. The answers are out there.

DSM already pushed the limit on tire width with the 215s on six inch rims. With a tire that is too large for the rim you get rounding of the tread surface and more flex when conering. The wheel should be at least 70% the width of the tire. Lets do the math:

152mm (6") / 225mm = 68%

Sometimes wider is not better.

V=149 MPH
Z=149 MPH+
W=168 MPH
Y=186 MPH

sooo what do u think about the W or V rated 712's as oppsoed to the Z's thanks in 215/55/16

W and Y pretty much supercede the Z rating. Anything V or better should have the performance and handling characteristics you are looking for.
