I want to get some Enkei RPM2 18x8 wheels but they only come in +35 or +45 offset. I wish they had something around +40 but they dont so which one would fit on my 2g awd better, +35 or +45?

I have 18/8 with 41mm and 235/40 perfect fit with the car 1.5 inches lower, if you get 35mm and try to correst the rear camber the tires will rub, the lip will have to be cut..45mm will touch the rear suspension with 235.

wont that stick out??

Should be just about flush with the 35 mm offset. I agree that 45 mm offset would rub. 40mm would have been an ideal choice for 235's if it had been available.

You may not be able to go as low as you want because with corrected camber, your tires will hit the fender.

45mm will touch on the inside with 235 and up..

35mm can touch the fender lip with 235 and up... so roll the lip with a wooden baseball bat and run 35mm because you cant bend the spindle with a bat to make it clear with the 45mm....

i have 35mm offset 18*8 inch rims with 225's. They rubbed when i got them. I had to add more negative camber to get them to tuck in as well as roll the front fenders. 235's you would have problems.

So how much negative camber are you running?

.75 degrees. So i have a tad more before i go out of spec. And they still probably somewhat rub on the outside of the tire. But going with a 235... i can't imagine that not rubbing.

And what rims do you have? This is only in the front?

I have exel Ennio's, 18's *8". They are a 35mm offset, and in the rear i'm running just a tad over 2 degrees of negative camber. which is still in spec. And i have the back fender inside lip cut out so they will tuck in the back. but you must roll the front fenders to fit an 18*8" rim with a 35mm offset and 225's. If you don't they will rub, and also if you are at factory from camber it will rub you must be on the negative edge of spec to tuck. BTW, i hope we are both talking about a lowered car....

This depends a lot on your suspension height. You won't get much rubbing with stock wheel gap. When you lower 1.5 to 2 inches with wide tires you start to have problems. I was getting a slight amount of rubbing over big dips on one rear wheel. Raising the suspension about 2mm was enough to eliminate it.

Read my post a couple up i said 'i hope we are both talking about lowered cars here.'

I have the Exel Ennios18x8 and my rears rubbed the fender lip whenever I turned so I took them off until I'm able to roll my rear fenders. This is with stock ride height and 235/40/18 tires. But once I get my fenders rolled, I think I'll be ok.

I have 99 3000gt VR4 wheels. 18x8.5 & rollin on Nitto555 245/40/18. I have no problems with a 2.5 inch drop. I did however roll the rear fenders.

That, to me sounds like the impossible dream. I believe VR4 wheels have 40mm offset. My research tells me mounting 245/40/18’s requires no more than 32mm. With spacers and 2.5 inch drop, the outer edge of your tire would be well into the fender interference zone (unless you are running a lot of negative camber).

Can you elaborate on your seemingly unattainable setup?
