i know this is gonna sound really noobie, but i am totally confused. what exactly do i need to lower my car? coil-overs? lowering springs? shocks and springs? what about all those different bars and chamber kits? can someone please explain this to me?

all i am really looking to do is give my car a more aggressive stance by lowering it a lil bit and hopefully improving the way it handles...

thanks

Dan

Okay, lowering springs are just springs that are shorter and stiffer than stock. Coilovers do the same thing but are also adjustable. Shocks and struts are essentially the same thing, all they do is damper and improve ride quality. You can buy stiffer shocks/springs for better handling.

so all i need is a set of 4 shocks and coil-overs to lower my car and give it better handling? what about all the other stuff like sway-bars and whatnot and chamber kits? whats that stuff do?

Thanks

Dan

Sway bars help you corner well by keeping the left and right tires in the same suspension flex as the other. This makes the two independant tires hit the road flat.

A camber kit extends the life of yer tires by keeping them in the correct camber setting. You have probably seen lowered cars that have new tread on the outside edge of the tire, but are bald on the inside edge. That is caused by a camber misalignment, and the camber kits eleviate that.

A strut bar mounts on top of the struts to reduce body flex in corners. Most people on this site will say it's pointless for an Eclipse, but I beg to differ. I installed a front one and felt a pretty good improvement. Nothing drastic, but enough for me to notice.
