Anyone good with 1g ABS systems...

I need a little help. The factory service manual is vague at best on the stock ABS systems the 1g's had. My 91 AWD has it, and it hasn't worked since the day I bought the car. I've put on new pads and resurfaced the rotors, and checked (visually) the wheel sensors, which appeared fine. The problem is the ABS light is constantly on, from about 10 seconds after the car starts. The brakes also vibrate BADLY when braking at speeds higher than 60mph (highway). The rotors were machined and are still well within specs, but I'm a bit at a loss, and am looking for a little help here.

Its sounds like a bad mechnically issue and the abs unit is bad..I would have a shop take a look at it..and test it..

That's what I'm trying to avoid - going to the dealer. No one seems to know how to check the codes, and the local Mitsu dealer is a joke.

I'm hoping someone else has gone through this already.
