I have a 1992 GSX, I am rebuilding the entire rear-end suspension on my car, replacing all the rubber components. I would like to replace the ball joints on the Upper Arm (41309) Lower Arm (41317AL/AR) but the manufacture says it is serviced as a complete assembly. I have heard rumors and it appears that the front ball joint is the same as the rear ones but I would like to make sure before investing in them.

Also unfortunately when removing the rear ball joints the sleeves came out with them so I am in need of the sleeves as well, has someone sourced either of these components?

Please Help, Thanks.

point blank, short and sweet, no I have not looked in to this to give you a definite answer.

However, I have been asked to install adjustable ball joints in a 2g. The service manuals said the ball joints were serviceable only with the entire upper control arm. I was told by other people though that it is possible to press out the old ball joint and install the adjustables. I declined the work since I don't have any experience so I can't give you any more answers. Just sort of throwing my two cents in for what it's worth.

Here is the short and skinny of it, I decided to break down and go ahead and buy some ball joints for the front. Low and behold they fit, they do have to be pressed in though so you will need to get the old ones pressed out and the new ones pressed in, but oh what a sweet thing Moog is. I have replaced any component on the car with aftermarket Moog components I would venture to say that they improved upon the stock components 100 times.

Just so you know the part numbers for replacements now that I know them all:
Manufacture Part Number is MB-241883
Moog Part Number is K9617
TRW Part Number is 10371
Perfect Circle Part Number is 260-1354
Beck Arnley Part Number is 101-3639

Now the only one I am certain of and can recommend from use is the Moog, I'd stake my life on these parts, and that's exactly what I'm doing. Moog is backed by Federal Mogul and they know there stuff.

Just passing on the word about parts well made...
