My e-brake is basically gone. Anyone have a vfaq or information on how to tighten it. I believe that is all mine needs is some good ole tightening. Thanks

Lift out the ashtray/can holder, put on the foot brake, release the parking brake, tighten that little nut down in there with your fingers until snug, put the parking brake back on, replace the ashtray/can holder, return to TV.

can you make it too tight and snap the cable? I have alot of fun w/ mine but i want it a little tighter, just dont wanna ruin it totally

I see alot of posts about tightening the cable from underneath of the center console but very few people recomend checking the parking brake shoe material.

While the parking brakes are not going to wear out as bad as service brakes, they still dry rot and become brittle. The method of adjusting the cable underneath the center console is not a bad idea but if this practice has been done several times to the same car you may be in need of parking brake shoes as well.

Adjusting it under the console is mainly for taking up the slack caused by the cable stretching. This stretching is caused by some normal wear, but most is caused by aggressive and excessive effort when setting the brake. It's not a slot machine and you don't win anything for seeing who can pull it the farthest.

Heh, can you pick up your car with one hand? No, the cable is the last thing that'll break in that chain. If you're having "a lot of fun" with it, you'll find out about replacing it shortly. Don't do handbrake turns. EVER.
It's only to park with.
