They look very nice. I don't know if you remember me from dsmtalk. Do you have any pictures of the car after the install? Maybe a pic of it slammed all the way to see what it would look like.

they look unbelievably bad ass...hows the ride, etc. are you happy with em? and most importantly, how much did they cost with everything?

thanks,

This weekend I should be able to get some good photos of it setup and dialed in.
Unfortunately I am not at liberty to say what it cost to get this whole supension issue to it's fruitfull end. Just know many late nights on the phone with my japanese counterparts.

It is a custom job, or as the Japanese say "one off". Unfortunately, I do not believe this trim level (Type HA) will be available to the general public at least for a little while. However, as a result of the R&D fabricating this setup they are devoloping a Tein Super Street Damper setup for the 1G.

Here is the link to their site indicating the SS-P system for the Eclipse(AWD) D27A 89-94 in under development.

Tein Mitsu Page

But at least the street setup is going to be made as a result of this endeavour. Should probably be less than the JICs.

To all that made this happen thank you! Haji-san when I get back to japan. We'll hit the club on me this time. :)

Looks pretty good! What spring rates did you get? The same ones on the website? That should make for a pretty stiff ride. Probably too stiff for drag racing.

I know that my Shockteks were too stiff for my liking at 450/350 (f/r).

The funny part is that my Shockteks are using Tein camber plates and rear purches, so they look very similar :). Unofrtunately, I just discovered that two of them are blown, so I am now looking for replacement or a place to rebuild them.

My standard springs with the rear tapered spring is

Front 9kg/504 lbs Rear 7kg/392 lbs ,

But I also have a stronger race only set that the rear is not tapered and will fit the real upper pillow mount as well. they are

Front 12kg/ 671 lbs Rear 8kg/ 448 lbs

I dont drag race so I go stiff. The ride is not as stiff or hard has some setups I have had on other cars.

So I am pleased with the ride. Do the Shockteks utilized a casing with a strut cartridge also? Cause that is one of the beauties of this setup, when the cartridge does finally go flat i can just replace it with a new strut cartridge.

Shockteks were sold as fully rebuildable/tunable shocks and struts, which is a great concept. The problem is that Shocktek went under... And now it is almost impossible to find anyone to rebuild them. So much for that bright idea...

They were also the first “short” shocks for DSMs, which allowed you to lower the car properly. Are those Tein shock bodies shorter than stock?

Another point, my Tein camber plates bent slightly from too much force on them. This was when I still had 350lbs springs. It is not a big deal, but noticeable when I have struts out of the car. I hate to imagine what 600-650lbs springs can do those plates.

Do you have a photo, I'm curious to see that. The plates I have look very similiar to the evo plates which come standard with the 12kg / 671 lbs springs. Maybe it is a result of the shocktek upper mount. how did it attach to the camber plate. The upper mount of my pillow balls have a flat plate that rest against the flat bottom of the camber plate, so like a sandwich. Appears nearly impossible for me to bend. But I am curious to see your mount and then I can take a pic of how mine is built and maybe it can help with yours.

Well, Finally got it all dialed in, i.e. camber, toe, ride height, dampening settings. So yesterday hit the Tarmac with them. The system in just awesome. The feedabck in great. Not too hard, though you can set it to be rock solid. It is very predictable, which is a must when hitting any Roadcourse/autoX. Corning is done with new found confidence. Body lean is minimal. Which will be nearly eliminated with further suspension goodies that will later be added. All in all, I give them high marks. Couple pics from yesterday, so to get an idea of how she is sitting. About 1/2 inch lower than I was on my KYB/AGX setup.

I am incredibly jealous. If tein made a trim level higher than the Flex system, I'd probably go for those over JIC's, but... What can I do? 2G's be damned for suspension mods.

not exactly slammed like the guy had asked (i would have liked to seen it also) but nonetheless, its definitely kick ass, nice car! lovin the wheels! :)

Ride heights should not be determined by measuring stick, but by corner weights. With that much spring rate, corner balancing is critical, as 1/4" of travel is 150 lbs. A properly balanced car will typically have slightly different wheel gaps in each fender. It would be a waste to spend that kind of dough and not get the most out of it.

Well, Guys sorry for the lack of info on this and lack of updates. I have had some serious personal matters to tend to,

But The production number has been finalized! So you should be able within a couple of weeks to start to order the

OMG DROOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

Damn, dude. Nice car.

I was gonna go with the KYB/DSS kit, but I have seen the light. :thumb:

Some things are worth waiting for, I guess.

I've been contemplating Type HA's for a year now, since the GVR4 has the same suspension setup, but they were just too expensive. The SS-P damper looks good too, but they're not an inverted-strut like the JIC's (What's the benefit to that, anyway?) The HA's are a little more expensive than the SS-P's, but don't they have more features? Oh. And did those HA's come with that camber arm? Or was that separate?

turbo shogun - aninverted shock will reduce unsprung weight.....kinda like adding lighter wheels.....helps handling and throttle response etc.
and damn those look absulotely amazing! i wish i was rich and had money for those bad boys!
lookin good

That has to be the sexiest 1g I've ever seen. So fresh and so clean clean. :thumb:
