hi, i'm looking for Spring/Shock Package but dont know which one to go with, so far i'm stock but i'm looking for some thing good for street/strip eny info you got will be helpful thanks,

I'd say go with Eibach Sportlines and Tokico illuminas or Tokico HP struts. Since 1G's sit up higher than 2G's you would avoid alot of the scraping we do with our lower front bumpers

Yeah, good combo. It'll be pretty low from the 2" drop but its good quality stuff. I had AGX on my 91, good shock.:thumb:

No, on the question about the AGX/Sportline combo. The AGX does not handle an aggressive drop well and tends to blow out. I would use the AGX only with the Eibach Prokit or the H&R Sports. If you want to go lower than that (ie Sportline, Intrax, Sprint) I would go with the Koni Yellows. With the Konis, you have two ways to go. When buying the Koni, the back shocks will be complete units, but the fronts will be inserts that will require a pair of donor front struts to cut up. If you buy from a place such as tire rack, you will get the inserts. Your other option is to buy a preinstalled set from Road Race Engineering. Road race requires you to send in your stock front struts as cores, but they cut the strut at a lower point than specified in the instructions, which allows you to maintain a lowered a stance and keep the full travel on the front strut. If you're willing to dish out the money, the AGX/Koni shock combo from RRE is the best. Once you get up into that price range however, you start getting into the lower end full coilover set ups such as the APEXi N1 Worldsport. If you want to keep the budget lower, then if you are looking just for performance and not a show car drop, then the AGX/Prokit combo is unbeatable. If you want to go low, then go with KYB GR-2s and one of the lower springs mentioned above. KYB does not warranty their shocks when they are on an assembly that lowers the car farther than 1.5". And you can't really fool them, because they can determine the cause of the blow out through the damage and wear on the valving. The GR-2 is better for very low cars only because they are cheaper to replace. You may get lucky with a set of AGXes as some have, however I have spoken to many people who have had their AGXes blow out, and a 1 out of 2 chance is not very good when you are spending $300+ on shocks. I personally have the Konis all around with Intrax springs. My opinion is that the Konis are amazing and the Intrax springs have sagged almost .5" and I would never get them again. They look good, but everything scrapes. Good luck, and if you have any questions, email me at [email protected]

ecturbodsm is right, don't know why some people in here are giving advice on some combos they concocted in their head without even tryin it on the car first

sportlines are too low for agx's up front. if you want to go low with those springs you will need to get rre's modified shortened konis. 1g cars and 2g cars are different people remember that when offering advice.

i used to have gab's with h&r's and then got rid of the h&r's and got those b&g's from machv. those were ok springs. but the b&g + gab combo wasn't that great it would hit hard up front even with the bumpstop trimmed in half. again i think the b&g's were too low for the gab's as machv advertises they drop about 1.8 inches.

i don't recommend gab's for street use at all, very stiff, the racing version of agx(same company).

i recommend agx's with the pro kit or h&r's.

and if you wanna get real agresive throw a rmdsm rear sway bar on(its called a kit cause it comes with front bushings too) but just be careful, the car will respond to whatever turn in you give it ......well enough for you to get into a mess if your skills arent' up to par.

my talon has AGX's and suspension techniques lowering springs..lowers the car an inch, and i have no complaints.

I've used KYB-GR2's and the Pro-Kit. No complaints. Didn't lower the car very much though.

Roomate used Intrax coils and GR2's and they made the car quite a bit lower but they were VERY soft.

what setup would be best for drag racing and street use ? but mostly for drag racing ? thanks

With drag racing, and AWD, you need suspension travel. You need that travel to take the shock from the launch so you don't get any wheel hop, and yes, you can get wheel hop on an AWD. Not much beats the stock suspension for drag racing. If you want to upgrade though, I would say that the Suspension Techniques or the H&Rs are probably softer than the ProKits. As far as shocks, the AGXes would kill your times. Even on their softest setting they are hard. I would say GR-2 with stock springs would be the best for drag. Like I said earlier, it all depends on money.

Didn't eibach used to make a drag kit?

I supposed on an AWD you'd want the weight going to the rear of the car, much like in a RWD car. And FWD you'd want stiff rear suspension so the weight doesn't go to the back of the car and 'squat'

if i put all the weight on rw's my front will spin like they do knaw, isent that bad and dosent that lower my 60's when the front breaks loose ? plus i loose the control of the car when they do come loose

If you are spinning the fronts, then yes, you may want the AGX adjustable rears. You're going to have to know what your car needs and use the info we gave earlier to determine your best set up.

AGX 4 way adjustable shocks/struts with eibach sportline kit. 1.5 drop in the front 1.4 in the rear. Handles great havent had any problems with it.

Of course I dont do any serious racing with it, but for the street its great.
