I just got my 18x8 45mm offset wheels with my 225/40/18zr tires put on and I drove home. When I got home I went to check the backs of the tires and they where kinda warm ( this might be normal ) and check for clearance behind the tires and the bar behind it. I couldn't get a finger in between there. So I grabed a mustang magezine and tried to fit that back there, it slipped in a little. Then I grab a thick peice of paper and it slide back there with no problems.

Now, am I going to run into rubbing problems when I get my ground control and koni yellows on with a 1.5 drop?

Help please:(

Thats wierd your car isn't lowered yet and your rubbing...yeah it has to be rubbing check the upper rear control arm and you can see it on there if it is rubbing...so jack up the car in the rear and look to see where the tires are hitting...

Well, a friend and I went out driving and looked under the car while the wheel was turned out. There isn't really any marks on the suspension. I think I'm just alright. There seems to be about 6mm between the wheel and the suspension. Can't fit a finger back there but about a quarter of an inch of paper fits back there.

I'm on 18 x 7.5 rims with 45 mm offset and 235/40/ZR18s. I know exactly what you are talking about. I drove and I didn't hear any rubbing. Then I heard what might have been rubbing. I can just barely get my pinky finger between the inside of the tire and the control arm. They don't touch so I think I'm okay too since that piece of the suspension and tire stay at a constant distance at all times.

I'd be more worried about the front tires since when you turn, the tire will flex a little.

I'm gonna get Tein SS coilovers in a month. I hope I don't rub!

I think the N/T's have different suspension from the GST,GSX,TSi's

By the way. I love what you did with your car. It inspired me to take a similar direction with my exterior mods.

A friend and I looked at the wheel with it turned out and no rub, all the nipples from my new tires are all there...not much room, but it should be ok.
