RRE Front Strut Bar

Greetings,

I just purchased a RRE front strut bar for my 2G Talon Tsi AWD. When I attempted to install it last night it did not fit right, it is about 1/4 inch short.

My car was built in April of 1995 and has never been in an accident.

Has anyone else experienced the same problem?

I am considering putting one front wheel up on a curb or a ramp to see if the distance pulls in to make the bar fit, but then again this may mess up my alignment.

Any suggestions are appreciated.

DON'T do the curb thing, that's awful. Call 'em up and see what the deal is. Also, its adjustable, right? Can't you just adjust the ends until it fits?

The bar is not adjustable, it is fixed in length and very solid.

I did call RRE and they suggested that I measure it. I asked them what is should measure and they said just over 42 inches. I agree with you that I should not force it to fit!

Hopefully I got one that was not manufactured correctly.

¼" is too much to take up with body flex. Something messed up (if not your car), RRE will make it right.

Yeah, maybe they sent you a 1G one or something.

After measuring the bar RRE sent me it measured 41 15/16 inches, RRE said it should be a little over 42 inches.

They are sending me a new one, no further questions asked.

RRE is really a class act!
