Recomendations on cheap *decent* front struts?

Hey guys I'm strapped for cash and I need to install some front struts. I called AutoZone and they had an alright price - 30 bucks a piece. BUT are those struts junk? Any info/opinions will be appreciated. The car is a 90 AWD TSi. Thanks.

I don't have the numbers at hand but check out the Advanced Auto in your area and check out the Monroe rebate up to $75.00 back with the right combo. If you can afford the front you might be able to get better for cheaper.

Tirerack.com has the genuine KYB GR-2 for about $78 each, if I remember correctly.

Tirerack.com has the GR-2 fronts for $44 apiece, rears for $40 apiece.
I like them - just a bit firmer than stock, but retains a decent ride.
Best bang-for-the-buck IMO.
