Getting the car ready for racing season (autocross, open track days). After fixing two stripped wheel studs, and stripped holes on my caliper assembly (had to drill out, re-tap and thread new holes on front caliper assembly and bang out wheel studs. Thanks Sears and Midas for using an impact wrench. 3 days into a new house and already the garage is paying for itself :) )
mounted my new wheels. 14lbs a piece is better than 30 lbs, right?

What do you guys think? I kinda hated it at first, but it's growing on me. The car looks really evil at night with the polished machine lip. Overall I'm happy with them.

Guess the 3 spokes are in semi-retirement for now..... :p

(But they will be back! MUHAHAHAHAHAHAHA *cough* *cough* wheeze*)

Like the look of those wheels. Wish they came in 18's! Maybe they do but I haven't seen them. The car looks great! I just picked up a set of black opal wheels with a machined lip. Cant wait to install those!:thumb:

Since everyone's *sorta* attending, I figured I'll inquire...

Has anyone seen, or does anyone have, or does anyone know of 17 x 8 wheels with 235 tire setup on a 1g? What should the tire profile be to keep the speedo somewhat 'el correctomundo' ? And what should the wheel offset be to prevent clearance issues? This is for a 1g, '90 Plymouth Laser RS to be exact.

Any info HIGHLY appreciated. :thumb:

ET30 wheel spec? What about the offset?

And as far as I understand, wheels rest on the axle hub's end (taking on all the car's weight), the lugs only help the wheel stay in one place. What's the diameter of that hole?
And what's the actual diameter of 235/45-17 combo? How about wheel/tire weight handling rating? I drive hard quite often, I wouldn't want my wheels or tires to crumble under my car when I'm making a reallly hard turn.

Sorry about all the questions, but wheel/tire vendors never really provide with all this info. (Sears, Firestone.. etc.)

Once again, any info extremely appreciated.

Offset would probably be pretty close to what I have, but double check the vfaqs. 1st gens had a slightly different offset I think. As for the actual diameter of the wheel/tire combo, check out a wheel calulator. A good one is at miata.net as for the other info, your best bet would be to call up tirerack and talk to someone there. They probably have the info you seek.

they look good.:thumb: they make the car look mean:mad:
