my girlfriend has a 98 eclipse rs and it pretty much scraps over EVERYTHING and its stock. if she puts bigger wheels on it will it raise it up enough so that if she lowers it for the wheelwell gap will it go lower to the ground than it is now?

thanks

Bigger wheels aren't going to change ride height at all. You have to get lower profile tires in order to keep the speedo calibrated correctly. So if it scrapes now, don't bother to lower it, it will only make it worse. And bigger wheels won't help either.

Yeah, I know that's what you meant. I was talking about how just buying wheels isn't going to change your ride height. That's all I was getting at.

being a stock rs with 14's and you upgraded to 18's it will raise the ride height. i know this for a fact being a rs and upgrading to 18's. two things, if she scrapes now, she can't drive. if you are going to put 18's on there, lower it. oh yeah, teach her how to drive and go slow over bumps and not at full speed or else those 18's will have some nice dents.

no it has nothing to do with the speed she drives, i scrap while driving it and i dont go fast at all ... its usually in intersections, like the road dips or something.

It isn't going to change ride height IF you buy tires that have the same rolling diameter as the stockers.

ok look. you want to borrow one of my 14's with stock tires and put it next to my 18 with 225/40/18 tires? there is a 1/4 inch difference. if i would have gone with 35 series tires, then i would have been ####ed and would be killing my rims. and plus, you can't always get the exact size, you can only be close. so chill:shhh:
