Hello,

I did some searches but they didn't turn up anything.

I will soon be going with KYB AGX shocks and Eibach Sportline springs on my 1G AWD. Eibach has an alignment kit for the front, but nothing for the rear.

Where can I buy an alignment kit for the rear? I have read that all you need are bolts from a hardware store, but I don't know what size or kind so I would rather pay more and get something that I know will work.

Any help is greatly appreciated

I have the Ingalls adjustable upper control arms. I got them from Lighting Motorsports for $160. You can get ball joints from NAPA for around $20 each and press them in yourself. Or, you could just cut the lower control arm (assuming you want less neg camber) and shorten it for about $50 from a local welder. both solutions work well. I have heard of some durability issues with the Ingalls. A local guy in our club lightly hit a curb while driving in a bank parking lot and the arm bent. Ingalls does warn you that overextending the arm will weaken it. Personally, I use about -3 degrees of negative camber in the back to go with the -2.8 I have in the front so I don't have to extend the Ingalls arm very much to get the results I wanted. Another plus is that with a tape measure you can make quick camber changes on the fly. That comes in handy when your autocross surface ranges from slick to sticky concrete.

thanks! thats some good info

I really don't want to have to mess with replacing the control arms and such.

Are there not any simple alignment kits (inexpensive) available for the rear? If anyone knows please let me know.

I decided to go with the KYB AGX shocks with Eibach Pro-Kit springs (1" drop).

thanks!

I decided to go with the KYB AGX shocks with Eibach Pro-Kit springs (1" drop).

That's exactly what I did. It appears visually that the front does not have a very bad camber problem, but the rear on the other hand shows quite a bit of negative camber. I picked up the Ingalls Rear Adjustable Control Arms and pressed in the ball joints myself. I still have to put them on the car though! I read that as long as everything is lined up properly and the jam nuts are locked down (with a little loctite) the arms will hold up.

I'm wondering if I still need to get an allignment, or if the eyeball tretment is good enough?

I don't think there is a "inexpensive" way with the AWD. I though the Bolt & Washer trick is just for the Rear of a FWD. With the AWD you have to change one of the control arms, upper longer or lower shorter.

There is a cheap way. Whiteline eccentric camber bushings. $40 from Mofugas motorsports, part number KCA 365.

Install isn't that bad. Unbolt the upper control arm and use a pickle fork or preferably a small gear puller (napa and other parts stores should rent one to you). Burn out the stock bushing with a propane torch (careful the gas is nasty). Clean out the metal sleeve in the arm with a wire brush and sand paper. Grease the new bushings, and put the eccentric sleeve through the bushings with the hole positioned so that it makes the arm longer. You now have 3 degrees less camber and another 3 degrees of stock adjustment.

I have the sportlines and agx and there great.
I didnt get a camber kit at all. I just go tit aligned and noted that I have 2.9 deg neg camber in the rear which is only .8 deg out of spec (2.0). The fronts were complety unaffected by the lowering.
My solution was that I just gave the front a little more extreme toe in (still in spec) to make up for the tad bit of neg camber in the rear, and I rotate them every oil change. Ive noticed no extra wear whatsoever, and beleive that it works great. Plua its nice to hae a little more camber for cornering...ehh
