sounds good

Ya, the wheel well is huge for the DSM's, I can almost drop my car 3.5" with 18's on them... and still have a little room to spare.

235/40-18 requires a minimum wheel width of 8.0" so it will not fit correctly

alright, so say i get wheels that are 18x8, what kind of offset would I need so that the wheels clear?

i knwo someone with 235/45/17 wheels with like a 7" or 7.5" width and his wheels fit fine, why wouldnt 235/40/18 fit on a 7.5 " width wheel? mees curious

tall tire..
While this may be different.. I had 15x7 rims on my stang. They had 225/60/15's on them. I went to 245/5015's fit perfectly..... just a thought.
I also had a set of 14x6 rims and they came with 195/75/14 and i went up to 215/60/14....

minimum wheel width for a 235/45-17 is 7.5" .... a taller side wall has more roon to squeeze down to a narrow wheel ....

18x8 with a 35mm - 40mm offset and you should be OK
