Opinion on Set-Up

Hi!

I would like opinions on my planned set-up.

Tociko Blue Struts
Ractive Strut Bars F/R
Ractive Coil-Overs


I plan on lowering the car 2'.


Gentleman your opinions please?

Seems like a nice set-up, but it depends on what you use the car for. Track, street, or show. Those have a large influence on how your suspension should be tuned.

Dont go with cheep Coil-Overs you get what you pay for.

I have to agree -- you get what you pay for. If you don't want to spend the $$ on a higher quality coilover setup , I'd go with Tokico Illuminas (5-way adjustable setting) and Eibach springs. I personally like the Prokit, but they won't drop you 2" -- you could try the Sportlines, which will drop it a bit further.

That's one of the worst suspension setups I've ever heard of.

Ractive is nothing but crap crap crap. That includes their strut tower bars too.

Do you want to just LOOK COOL or do you want to actually have a car that can turn with more confidence?

If all you want to do is look cool, buy some springs and some tokiko 5 ways. But if you actually want to have a car that handles better than stock, you're going to have to increase your budget more than 300 dollars.

I agree, Ractive is a half azz, APC grade brand of company. If you have a 2G (which Im assuming you do), Skunk2 Coilovers are quite nice if you want a solid, slightly stiffer ride. If you want a little more play and dont mind a lil bounce, you can choose from Ground Control, Max Speed, or a few other brands. Id recommend those brands because they all have a nice ride and they all have dual locking collars to lock the ride height on the threaded pillar. Stay away from coilover springs that are half azz like Ractive and Weapon R. Heard many cases of the lock screw stripping on these as well as the threaded pillar cracking.
