17X9 Rims..Will they fit?

I searched, but I couldn't find the answer to my question.
I'm looking at a set of MB Competition 17x9 +17 (5x114.3) with Falken Ziex-512 - 225/45/17/Falken Ziex-512- 215/45/17 tires.

I am wondering if they will fit without spacers/problems on my 2g? I just want to make sure they will fit before I buy them, unfortunately I can't just try them out first .

Any help would be great! Thanks

Need to be close the 35mm offset and those tires mention above won't fit 9" width wheels.

The tire sizes you mentioned fit a 8 in wheel, if im correct.

Well they're not the right tires for 17x9 wheels. There are for 8.0 maybe 8.5 wheels. They will either damage the tires and wheels. It serves no purpose on going 9" if the tires only cover 8.0-8.5."

As for the wheels, I don't believe they will, you need something like 40-45mm offset.

I don't know about your rims, but I have 245x45/17's on my car. They are really wide but, surprisingly, they fit just fine. Because of this, I would be led to believe you can get some pretty wide rims to fit if the backspacing is just right.

Oh, and wider rims (with the same tires) are supposed to give better cornering traction -- kind of like going to slightly wider tires.

I have a 27offset on a 17x9 wheel with 245/45/17 tires and they stick out. I personally like the look though however weird that may sound. Keep in mind I have a 1ga

A +17 in a 17x9 wheel would more then likely look horrible and the rubber would be waaaay too stretched.

I actully have 17x8 mb and they fit about perfect. Cant remeber the back spacing. But my hp racing 18x8.5 are more tucked that my 17x8. I do agree with alittle rubber sticking out of the fender wheels. But im postive those wheels and tires will rub when you go to turn proablly alittle. A 9in wheel is very large, and the way the tires are not the correct size, im would be careful.

i got some 18x9 with a +30mm offset and 3mm spacers on the front, also have 225/40's

+17 will stick out incredibly on a 2g, you also will be messing with your scrub radius. A +35 for a 9 inch wheel is perfect. Why go 9 inch and stick 225s or 215s? You might as well stick with 8 or 7.5 if your just gonna go that wide and save your butt some money and weight.

some wheel designs only come in 9" or wider which is pretty weak.

op- i would seriously not even consider a wheel with a +17 offset

The rims and tires were a package deal. I've found a set of my second favorite rims.. 17X7.5 5zigen FN01R-c's!

17x9" +35, 2" Drop. Had to cut a little outa the rear control arm from a rub, but only because I'm on the wrong offset, will be installing spacers soon.

17x8" +35, 2" Drop.... Perfect Fit! Minus the front tires stood out of the fender a some.

I'm running 18x9 as well, but with a +24mm offset. They do stick out a little, but it's hardly noticable. I'm running a 235/40 series tire. I'm thinking about going to a 245 once I get ahold of a fender roller. I have plenty of room on the inside, it's just the outside holding me back. You're car looks sick by the way black 2g's FTMFW!
