Right now I am running rx7 16x8 rims with spacers and 225/50 tires with a prokit drop. I have about .25" from the tire to the control arm if not less. Im not too sure the size of my spacer, but i know it is smaller than 15mm. Maybe 5/16 or 7/16 not too sure. Anyways, eventually I would like to put on a bigger tire, 245 being the smallest. I saw a 2g gsx with 275s all around and I think they were 17in rims. What do I need to fit on big wheels like 255-275? I will consider a 15in rim if necessary. I know I need longer wheel studs, which are on the way as well as bigger spacers but what else would I have to do to accomodate wider tires? Maybe a wider rim? How big of a tire can I fit by rolling the fenders before I would need fender flares? I dont see many people putting on wider tires like 255+ so is this even possible? My goal is to have a fast street car from a stop and from a roll. As of now I do not lose traction at all punching it in 2nd gear with my big16g at 20psi, which nets roughly 110 traps. I will be getting a bigger turbo soon(green or 7cm red) and will want the bigger tires so I can run some decent times. Any and all help is appreciated. Thanks

Dude, it's a DSM, not a Supra. The bigger wheel and tire combo isn't a bad idea, but you have to be realistic. I'm runnung a 245/40/18 with no problem with a 42mm offset. Iff you can do the math, it's all in your offset. Just because you have spacers doesn't mean that you can run a larger wheel/tire combo. I'm sure that the spaces compensat for the extra space in the wheel well but you can only do but so much with out rolling you fenders. I have a ported and clipped 20G@15 psi and I have slight wheel slippage in 2nd, but not enough to bother me that much.

I know its not a supra, but that doesnt mean I can't run wider tires. The offset on the rx7 rims I believe is around 50, and with spacers will that not change the offset so I can run wider tires? What exactly is offset? Maybe the 18in rims make it harder to spin the tires? My friend had a 20g at 20psi and made roughly 400hp with that on a 1g and that spun 3rd gear and that is why I want to run the biggest tire possible. I dont want to spend all this money and make good power and still spin so much. I saw someone put 275s on a 2g awd and I think it was 17in rims, so I was wondering how I would go about putting on wider tires. It doesnt have to be as big as 275, but bigger than 245 would be nice, I just want to know if anything else is involved besides longer wheel studs and spacers for the rims and rolling the fenders? Or do I need a totally different rim with different offset? I thought thats why I need the spacers?
