I have a 1990 Eagle Talon AWD 5 spd. It has the dual piston calipers and 10.83 in. rotors. I want to either have cross-drilled rotors or go w/ the AEM big brake kit. Unfortunately , they say you have to have the single piston caliper and smaller 10.03 rotors. Is it possible to go w/ the dual piston caliper w/ the AEM brake upgrade????

The AEM kit only works with the single piston calipers. You can't use it with your dual piston calipers. Personally I would much rather have the dual piston brake set-up then a big rotor and tiny stock calipers. Get the slotted/drilled rotors and stainless brake lines (if you don't have them already). If you still need more brakes then that step up to something like the Baer Racing kits.

Also remember that some big brake kits may not fit inside your wheels.

I like the baer brakes better. However, that is totally incorrect about theAEM brake kit only using the single piston callipers! What do you say about the awd 2nd gen cars that are using the AEM brake kits! Surely you're not suggesting that we are using single piston rotors!OMG :shhh:

He would actually be able to use the big rotor kit with the use of 17" rims! The stock Dual piston callipers would work just fine!

So can I use the AEM rotor kit??? It would be nice to have the large rotors. I do have 17 in. rims. I was thinking about Baer rotors stock size. Thanks for the info.

I just need to know if it can be done , I don't want to buy it and get everything taken apart and find out that it does quite fit. Baer rotors sound nice. but the AEM units are , well , huge. Decisions , decisions.

Get in touch with the guys at www.roadraceengineering.com ,and goto their web site! I know for a fact that you would have to have 17" rims ,with the AWD! AEM kit ! RR engineering can give you very good info on what is and what is not permissible!1st gen AWD may need very very small mods to do install but 2nd gen AWD ,no problems at all!Remember 17 inch rims for dual calliper Big brake install 1st and 2nd gen! They have pics of the different installs on their site! I believe www.clubdsm does also on the FAQ then goto brakes! Hope all this helps!
