Im not positive if this is the proper place to put this but if its moved its moved oh well...
If you dont want to read the whole story then skip to the paragraph with the (***)
Well anywho a week ago or so I was being stupid in these curvey back roads at about 3 in the mourning. I am used to these backroads which me and my friend w/ a 04 sti always play around on occasionally when driving the scenic route from his house to mines. Well my boost is slightly up since i last went back there for spirit driving.
( Did a cold air intake and now im spiking 23psi instead of 21.)
I went into one of the usual right corners a little faster than I should have and especially made the mistake to accelerate during corner entry. Once full boost; my back tires ( Rs-2s ) broke loose. I turned the steering wheel back towards the left in attempts to straighten the car out but in quick panic reaction to slam the brakes at the same time in which i think continued to transfer the weight forward, causing the rear end to continue swinging out at about 45 mphs. The whole car swung to the side and spun out while my passenger side front tire smacked into the curb unleashing a cloud of tire smoke as it hauled to a stop now facing the opposite direction.
The car was stalled out, my friend turned around in his sti and pulled over next to me. Helping me push the car over to the grass and in a paranoid state, I examined everything possible under hood and on the suspension with my friends help to see the damaged ive caused. To my surprise nothing wrong with it, the car just took a good amount of cranks longer to start but started right up fine. I was expecting the front right rim to be destroyed due to these light weight 3rd gen Rx7 rims being very fragile;( previous owner had an experience with rx7 rims cracking easy and replaced.) I guess the rim wasnt hit possibly due to the thickness of the tires.
So then i drove it home...

Well a couple days later i notice the frnt right tire had a small chunk of rubber knocked out of it ( from when it smacked the curb obviously.) Luckily they were wide and fat enough to protect the rim. It doesnt look too bad, but i can see a few white threads showing right on the side of the tire. I currently dont have money to purchase four new tires right now and know its not good to just put one or two or even three new tires on at a time with awd. I rotated it to the back figuring if it blows id be better off with it back there. My friend w/ sti works at tire kingdom and he told me that i need to replace it soon but that it should be fine as long as I dont take any hard corners; were it would cause the car to lean in and put pressure on that tire...
I get my tires from the internet and would like to replace with the same ones but last I checked they were sold out.
These are exactly what I have now and were they were bought Edge Racing - Item Details
Due to budget what would one think of me only replacing 2 tires ( same size, and brand of course. Both rears or both front ) and then later coming back to the other two. Would that put any fatigue on the vicious coupler?
This was a week ago. The tire hasnt lost any air pressure and ive been taking it pretty easy on it.
Should be a lot less stress on tire with it in the back. I will change all four when I save up the money even though these tires only have about 5 thousand miles on them. Hope it will last that long, any opinions?
